Users in the Education sector recommend better anti-spam technologies to improve the email experience

Northborough, MA November 6, 2007 - Brockmann & Company released its latest independent, self-funded report on the role of email in the education sector. The report, entitled "Email in the Education Sector" is available for a limited time for free download on http://www.brockmann.com.

Peter Brockmann, President and Research Director of Brockmann & Company said, "Email is the most important communications service for users in this industry - yet only 11% were very satisfied with their experience. It was no wonder that  better anti-spam and better anti-virus technology was most frequently cited as key to improving the user's email experience."

"Clearly spam interferes with the education process and the process of doing business in education. It floods administrator, student and teacher inboxes with inappropriate, irrelevant and anonymous email and with the poor performance of spam filters, it fills the spam folders of users with plenty of good email," added Brockmann. 10% more users in this industry have experienced lost business as a result of an email not arriving (presumably trapped in spam folders).

This report is the latest in a series of Messaging reports to be published in the coming months on the practices and insights within various industry groupings.
