Users in Software, Business Process Outsourcing and IT Services markets receive 20% more false-positives than others

Northborough, MA October 9, 2007 - Brockmann & Company released its latest independent, self-funded report on the role of email in the software, business process outsourcing and information technologies services industries. The report, entitled "Email in Software, BPO and IT Services Industries" is available for a limited time for free download on http://www.brockmann.com.

Peter Brockmann, President and Research Director of Brockmann & Company said, "Users from these industries receive 36% less email overall, but 20% more false-positives than others. In most circumstances, the higher incidence of false-positives means lost opportunities, delayed business and frustrated customers."

"Clearly, IT directors in these industries need to get serious about combating spam since it is such a business and productivity drain," added Brockmann.

This report is the third in a series to be published in the coming months on the practices and insights within various industry groupings.

Some of the report findings include:

  • 75% of respondents rated email as very important to business success
  • This industry receives 36% fewer email than others
  • This industry experiences 20% more false-positives than others
  • Better mobile email integration is the most frequent recommendation for improving the email experience
